Having recently moved to Eugene, Oregon, I'm looking for recommendations for a
good LBS to help me care for my Bleriot and Ram. I've visited at least half a
dozen bike shops and have been very impressed with everyone's friendliness, but
I'm asking for any suggestions from local RIV owners.

Yowzer that looks like a long day in the saddle!
Too bad about the heat. Looks like all the climbing is mile 100-130, just
when you're getting nice and warmed up!

This is the best one i've found.
Keeps your coffee HO! for hours.
The flip top is uber secure and can be operated one handed.

They can carry my smoothie! :D
So easy to expand/close for various size containers and due to their
design, your container is always secure.
The fact that they are uber sexy is just an added bonus. ;)

The worst thing? They break easily. I broke three, two of which had modest
use. All broke at the same place: just above where the wire is brazed to the
mounting plate.
Steel bottles, 8 oz heavier full but carrying slightly less liquid than a
large plastic bottle, also full; but still, for the price

Is Keven's bag permanently out of stock, or am I just very unlucky the few
times a year I check for it?
As an alternative, does anyone have experience with the "Carradice Zipped Roll"
bag?
Thanks,

I purchased two of the Nitto stainless bottle cages when Rivendell
first introduced them. They are very beautiful, and enhance the
appearance of a bike (I had them mounted on my 1996 Riv Road
Standard). Unfortunately, I didn't find them to be particularly
sturdy for my use. I often have occasio

You must be a gorilla. :-)
I have them on a couple bikes with thousands of miles, including touring,
with no problems. A buddy of mine races cyclocross with his, no problems.
All of which is to say there's another side of the coin.

Well, I'm 6' 3", 220 lbs. Not quite a gorilla... Also, I definitely
don't consider the Nitto cages to be junk. Thanks for the offer, but
if I decide to let them go they'll be on eBay!

I have both bags. The zipper roll is wider and larger overall and holds a mini

and gives a different look. If you need to carry less, it's a bet

There was a post on the Rivendell website a few weeks back saying that
the Keven's bags will now be made by Nigel Smythe.

As an alternative you can simply cut off some old Levis at the bottom
of one pant leg and hem one side and stitch on some Velcro closures
then attach with toe straps through your saddle loops. This works
quite well and can hold quite a bit of junk plus its cheap to do. It
kind of works like a burr
