I had the same problem on my 650b conversion (Panasonic DX-1000). I
used one of the hangers from QBP and filed it until it fit.
It looked thin but has survived for several seasons now.

Yay! Everyone should own a QB! Its close to the perfect bike, if you
ask me - simple, versatile, beautiful. You can ride all day on one,
take it anywhere, and still be all hip with no derailer around town -

I just finished a quickbeam build yesterday and am in love. It may replace
the Atlantis for some long distance gravel rides I'm entered in this spring,
it's so smooth and efficient. I've done just about 60 miles on two rides,
but that's pretty nice considering everything is usually still frozen and
The QB is indeed a go-anywhere kind of bike. I've done rides on my
fixed gear QB that I would hesitate to do on a geared bike. It's that
versatile.

Agreed, the QB does fine in hills, it's the engine that has to be upgraded!
