Have you tried the grease that’s recommended for carbon steerers? It has a bit of grit in it to improve the grip of the parts. I’ve used it in the past on a carbon steerer and a seatpost, and it worked as advertised. Park makes such a product; there are others: http://www.amazon.com/Park-Tool-S
