Thanks, that sounds plausible.

Well, yes. That's why I used the word "tried." Although I'm not sure it was
exactly good sense that was fully responsible for the abandonment of BB&H.
I do agree it was an interesting experiment.

I miss Ibex and am grateful for each and every one of their items I bought
over the years, be that online or on Ebay or wherever. I never quite
warmed up (so to speak) to their more formal shirts and I know sizing could
be tricky with pants and such. There were more misses in their execution

I should have added that my relationship with Ibex was based on their
annual sale. Very friendly employees and reasonable prices, never have been
to one of their retail shops. Steve

I don't think Ibex had that kind of following, and they were doomed by their
constant fire-sale promotions. Did you ever pay full pop for Ibex stuff? I know
I didn't.

Let's not forget that Rivendell tried something similar. It's difficult to
be a specialty retailer, web or brick, that cares to one degree or another
about quality, sourcing, etc.

Ibex had a retail store in Denver's Cherry Creek Shopping district.
Arguably the most expensive place to open a brick and mortar retail store
in Denver
They wouldn't get much sympathy from me paying that high rent.

Perhaps we ought to charge annual reading and posting fees for this list,

Or perhaps, pay per post? I'd have to cut back!
Or, perhaps a fine for silly posts like this.

I know RIv is not a non profit but I would donate as well or consider it a

Doug, I wish I had that much disposable cash also. But, alas, it went on

disposed of over the next couple of months. Still, even with that avenue

Wow Tim. Way to take advantage of a good deal. I wish I had that much

I just bought a $10 credit too. I had actually also ordered the on-sale
"Grant Special 3-speed" Clem L last week to be my wife's new commuter bike,
but felt a little bad about that since it was such a great bargain.
