I rode over to Union City (30 miles, mostly along creeks and the bay
on paths separated from cars, which is really cool in the middle of
such a big urban area), hopped on BART, and as I was chatting with
another cyclist (bike tourist, steel bike, nice guy) who should come
up behind me but Manny.

I'm coming, and I may be bringing along a potential Riv recruit.
Is it possible to send out an advanced group that is sure to get to
wherever we're camping before it's dark? I'm not afraid of riding in
the dark, but I'm not a fan either of setting up my tent in the dark
or of riding in the dark on
I am going to try and make this one! Hopefully the planets will align and
my feet will not tear the rice paper.

Grant, thanks for the advice about CalTrain. Technically, you're not
allowed to take loaded touring bikes on CalTrain. That wouldn't
necessarily be a problem, but you're not allowed to take loaded
