Rode 200k on borrowed flat pedals after I forgot my SPD shoes. Used high
top hiking boots. Worked fine, feet felt fine at end.

Dr. Scholl wooden slide sandals. I thought they wouldn't stay on my feet, but
they did. The wooden platform gave me a lot of support too. I just did errands
with them. They're comfortable.

It worked out all right but I can't recommend it:
One time I needed to go to a meeting at a community college nearby. I
wore my favorite bike dress, leggings, and high-heeled short boots. No
problem riding, it was a short distance anyway. Then on the way back I
decided to take the dirt path. Hmm,

set (street or otherwise), due to circumstances, but they turned out
working great anyway (or you made them work)?
