Interesting about the insurance... Curious if you have a specific rider for
your bike(s) or just general homeowner coverage.
In glad you got it back and have that option. Its a tough call given the
one-of-a-kind nature of the bike. If you keep it the bike has even more
'story' behind it now,

Yes, agreed. I forgot to add that above all else, I am happy that this
beautiful and appreciated bike is back with it's rightful owner. That tips the
scales towards "all is well again with the world."

I agree with people that being forced to take part in the cycle of stolen
property makes one feel like you are perpetuating the whole deal. I guess

Thanks All! Well, the good news is USAA (my insurance) will pay for
replacement cost - I've never made a claim before -- so I'm thrilled about
that. . . It does make the pain a bit less. I still think it's so unique (like
many of the Rivs) that it seems impossible it won't turn up!

I love reading this forum and have a similar type of hand built bike - a
Royal H Mixte with custom Peter White Son Dynamo wheelset. . . . It was
stolen out of the garage this week while I was in DC. My partner thinks it
