Train 761 originates in LA & is the earlier one. Train 763 originates in San Diego and is the later arrival. To catch the 761, you'd need to get an early Metrolink from Irvine (since Amtrak's service ends there that weekend). There's a 5:24 AM that arrives LA 6:40 or a 6:03 that arrives LA
