Thanks for the suggestions. Now i have our trip set up to have two stays in
Portland with a trip up in the San Juan Islands in between. Perhaps someone
can point me to a portland-local ride that I can do on one of my days
there. I have heard good things about Mt Tabor.

Two possibilities, depending on your idea of a "day ride." I've only done
