As a data point the strut leg end meets my forks on my Bleriot at about the 11
1/2 cm, as measured straight down the side of the fork blade from the top edge
of the fork crown lug.
And that is with the rack set as low as possible with the tang bent as low as
possible over the break calipers.
Not sure if it's a perfect match, but Tubus sells some mid-fork eyelets for
mounting their racks on forks that don't have the necessary eyelets. I
bought some to mount the Tubus Tara on my '09 canti Sam because the
mid-fork eyelets don't allow for a level mounting of the Tara. Perhaps you
