Camping at Mt.Diablo should only be done at the campsites there. Fires
should only in designated fire pits. And there was a lot of fog when I
was there. But not at Juniper. There was so much fog that the dew felt
like it was raining. In the middle of the night I had to retreat out
of my hammoc

btw, manny, i'm curious about camping on mt. diablo. are the rangers
strict about where you sleep? can you just set up anywhere? have a
fire anywhere, etc? Also, about the fog, if you climb higher, is there
no fog a

Great trip, looks like a successful S240. Did you take the trails up
to the top? Allot of hiking and Biking if you did. I did a similar
trip in January when the weather was so nice.
We should facilitate a small group S240 if anyone is interested.

The super-easy S24O that I intend to do this summer is a work-commute-S24O.
Evening ride from El Cerrito to Anthony Chabot on Redwood Road. Camp in a
walk-in site. Get up in the morning and head to work through Castro Valley
to South Hayward.

I've got Cal Shakespeare in Orinda Friday night and a 200k brevet Saturday
morning, so I'm out this weekend, but I love the idea of posting S24O

The carradice bag has worked out pretty well! I've had it about
threeish years and it's still holding up strong despite the abused
I've taken it through. I need to rewax the bag soon.
@William
I might be planning one in the near future. Maybe even this Friday up
to Hawk Camp in the Marin Head
Looks good Manny. The fog rolling in has been pretty un-summerish, hasn't
it? I'd be down for a short-notice S24O. That doesn't mean I'll get
permission from the family unit, but my overnight bike kit can deploy
rapidly. I'm useful around the campsite for amusement because I know

how's that black carradice bag treating you? looks like its still
going strong.
your s240 looked awesome! i still haven't gone on one yet, want to do
another one this summer? i'm actually going to be house/dogsitting for
my friend in WC from 8/12-8/23. i'm determined to do at least one s240
P.S.
On my way down from Mt.Diablo my rear derailuer broke and I had to
jury-rig it into a single speed to get back to the shop. Got it
replaced.
