Hi Jim I found another setting in the advance list settings: "Who can view member email addresses" I did some playing around on my test list and it looks like this setting also has to be set to "List members" in order for me to be able to reply privately (from a non-list-manager) account. Mik

Yep, I'm logged in Jim. I can switch between the classic and new group formats at will. I use Firefox desktop only w/Linux Mint. I just tried it with Chrome also, no go there too. Classic view I can reply to author, new view I cannot, as I showed in the photo I sent you. In fact, I could

As a follow up to my follow up: - I've confirmed that "Reply to author" was authorized in the group settings. But in doing so, did notice that "Reply to author" is open only to group members (set that way on purpose). I'm wondering if those of you who have experienced issues with this may hav

When switching from the new version to Classic, a box pops up asking why you want to do so. I made a list of my concerns & sent it to them. If enough of us do that, perhaps it will change their minds. My specific concerns are that in the new version, groups with new posts are not indicated;

Thanks for bringing this up, Joe - There is no discrete setting for me to allow this. I've flipped back and forth between new/old google groups and cannot replicate the condition on my MacOS system using Google Chrome. Would one of you mind sending me a screen capture (a true screen capture -

Being that we can still see it (but not use it), I'm wondering if the reply to author is a setting that the moderator has to re-activate in the settings for the "new" groups. I've reverted back to old for now and can still use it on desktop. Dave On Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 10:37:27 PM

This is not ideal, but I've found that a work around is to revert your Groups to the old style (click Settings > Return to classic Google Groups) allows you to send private messages to posters. If you prefer the style of the new Groups, you can change it back by clicking the "View New Groups" b

Good call, Joe. It's true, I can't find a way to email a user when on the new google groups on the laptop. When using the iphone I can't even reply to a thread...the option doesn't even exist. On Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 8:08:57 PM UTC-5, Joe Bernard wrote: > > Ok I'm not the moderator of
