I guess my best answer to when the Collegiate will resurface is
"sooner or later". In fact, staying on top of the Project has been
the single biggest challenge.
Based on past experience, I thought we would have plenty of time
during the "off-season" to complete it ... that was the plan anyway.

As far as I know, there are only two on the Hillborne. At least the
one's I've seen so far only have two. Including mine.
On bikes with a third mount, usually end up putting my pump on there
instead.

is there no third water bottle mount on the hillborne? not that it
matters (for me, anyway) - just curious. seems like some AHHs have
'em . ... and the Hillborne is more "tourer" than that bike. does it
vary between production run, or just not
Yes, I think the Nitto Campee racks really complement the Orange
Hillborne well.
Although the placement of the rack mounts don't allow for a perfectly
level rack, it works pretty well and is super solid. The front rack
had to be shimmed a little to keep it from contacting the fork.
The derailleur
Really nice build Bryan.
The Nitto rear rack can't be beat - it's easily my favorite, for both
looks and function.
I wasn't so sure about that front rack, but it really works on this
bike. Normally, I wan't racks perfectly level - but with that
upsloping top tube, it works pretty well. Also, the
Bryan what is the model of front / rear derailer and what's the
gearing on the rear cassette?

Thanks for the complements on and off of The Group.
The canti brakes are Shimano R550's. While they are a little spendy,
they're easy to setup and (of course) work well.
And yes, Bob is debating on the wheelset selection ... we've given him
the option to change over to the 36 spoke silver XTR +
Another nice looking build. Tip o' the hat to ya. Cool bell
mounting. You've given me an idea for the next bike build.
Seth, huh, guess never noticed the different fork bends Maybe just
the difference in whomever is bending? Also realized I don't have a
"normal" side shot of mine. Which is o
Looks nice. I would have gone with 36 hole wheels on a bike that will
weigh 70lbs loaded. Also, I think a cross country trip could easily
justify some 37c Paselas or even some 40c Schwalbes. He's got time to
think about that, I suppose. But those look like 32's, which is
positively skinny for a
Well done! Which brake set is that? Quite clean.
I'll bet Bob can't wait to load up & go.
