Wayne,
I feel pretty much exactly the same. I just can't justify a 4th riv w so much
overlap w bikes i already have.
But it looks fantastic.

Wow, I really love that blue 58cm Rosco Road model. Everything about that
bike just seems ideal to me. It looks like it would be great fun to ride
around. Since it has a Quickbeam fork, I would build it up as a single
speed. Just for fun.

Whos gonna design their bikes then?

Also, Grant retiring should not be construed as Riv closing. I have no insider
knowledge beyond a few casual chats over the years, but I'm fairly certain GP
expects the business to continue indefinitely.

I remember a Blug post or email stating that they were given a larger
credit line to work with this year. These may just be projects that he's
been itching to do for a long time but didn't have the funds. We can only
hope.

All these new Riv projects make me wonder if Grant is pondering/ thinking about
retirement. It seems like a LOT of these projects have their roots back 15+
years ago in Riv history. It looks a bit like he is doing all the projects he
always wanted to do. Just the Riv tandem alone has been talked
Tall hurts too because these look fun. Waiting for a 100PBH Rosco. At least I
have a XL Hubba Hubba coming in February.

Description of both being "roadish" does seem slightly suspect. It's
interesting that they intentionally cropped off the handlebars in the
photos of #5. A quick comparison tells me it might be similar to a 58cm
production Joe, which would fit roughly the same size. Top tube is
slightly shor
If you follow the links to the Riv website, there are geometry diagrams
among the pictures.

Never mind. I refreshed my browser, and I see that they've added a
diagram.

Where are you seeing the geometry specifications, Jay? I must be missing
something. And I've been wondering too. The green #5 is the first Rosco
that's fit me, and I happen to think it is proportionally gorgeous with the
extra tube. But being "roadish geometry" and limited to 40mm tires, I'm
#s 4 and 5 are for about the same range of PBH and saddle heights, but they
are very different designs.
#4 is 58 x 57.5, 45 cm chain stays, a nearly horizontal top tube and 33.3mm
clearances
#5 has a 55 cm st with a 60 cm upsloping tt, Clemish chainstays, tires up
to 40mm and a longer head tube
I like the color. Would this size even work for you Phil?

Not understanding the gross part of your comment. I'm glad they are doing some
unique projects. I think they already pretty much acknowledged that some would
like them and others not do much. Choice and variety is a thing in my book

Ugh, gross. I guess this is Riv's way of saying "Hey buy our bikes, they're
like our mainline but slightly different, and we're not comfortable
charging you $950 for a frame that will ride as well as our $2000 frames,
so we need to differentiate them a bit more"
