Thanks for all the informative posts. I went ahead and ordered a Brooks B67 S saddle through Amazon. She can try that out and see if she likes it better. I think those pedals are gaudy but it's her bike, so I'll have the MKS Lambda pedals on standby just in case she ends up wanting to swap them

The bars are set up for an upright riding position, but the B17 Narrow may not be the best saddle for such a posture. Brooks recommends wide saddles for upright riding, like the sprung B67 (or discontinued B68) or Cambium C19. The Rivet Loveland is another great option. Brooks recommends the B17
