When people ask "what size tire should I use for a tour?", my advice
is "stick on the biggest one your bike will take". You have found the
limit for the Roadeo! And what a look.

I do like those tires on my Sam Hillborne. However, on that bike,
thye don't look huge. Or maybe I'm just more used to slightly larger
tires. The skinniest I'll ride is 37 and those look positively
svelte.
Like others, would like to see photos of the Rodeo set up that way.
With a suitably light
They were mounted on a Mavic Open Pro on the Rodeo, they are now on the MA3's
on the SO, awesome tire.

The 700 x 40 Marathon Supremes I have measure 40 mm on a Mavic A719
rim (fairly wide touring rim). So the 37.5 mm is probably on a
narrower, more high performance rim. The rim is the other variable to
consider when pushing the envelope on tire fit.
The 40s look nicely chubby on my Atlantis; they

Two different tires.
Marathon plus is the tire with the real thick inner layer:

It is designed
Strangely enough, I find about the same thing with my Sam Hillborne.
The 40mm Supremes can be slow and heavy. Although not all the time.
While the frame can handle them, I was a bit happier last year on
Pasela 35s on my particular SH.
Otherwise, I have a set of Supremes 26x2.0 on a different bike

I first ran these 700x28's on a tour between Boulder Colorado and St Louis
Mo. The sold me along the way as I drank coffee and watched friends patch
tubes from goat head
Those are 50s? Wow! And I thought my Atlantis fork had clearance.
Those really fit the character of the bike. The speedblends look a
bit lost on the Hunqa. Looks like matching Acorn bags, no? Nice
build.

I've got 40mm Supremes on my Sam Hillborne.. I found them to be slow and heavy,
though bulletproof.
I've also got some Mara Racers on a Romulus.. extremely light and fast.
Of course the 36 spoke Mavic versus 20 spoke Neuvation might have something to
do with it, too.

I"ve been riding 32mm Supremes on my Quickbeam with one flat in about
1500mi. I doubt many tires would deflect a shiny new sheet metal
screw.
I've been very happy with the Supremes. However, I am jonesing for a
set of Schwalbe Marathon Racers.
Here's a shot of the 'beam with the Supremes:

My Pillar has been Hunqified. Just posted pics on my flickr account

I'm going to jump in on this marathon love, is anyone running

Yah i've been riding 700x40 Supremes on my QB for 2 years already. No
flats so far and they roll pretty dandy. I love them.
I just wished Schwalbe made the Supremes in the 650b size. *SIGH*

like a great set-up.

I second that..I have the 700 x 40's (38mm) and run them at about
65 psi. They seem to ride as nice as my 35mm wide Paselas did only
cushier. I also like the reflective strip. For me the 38 mm width

I think they're just great. Plus I really hate flats.

My Atlantis came with Paselas which were good but prone to sidewall
cuts due to my lack of attention in where I ride. I changed to the
Marathon Supremes a few years back and will soon install my 3rd pair.
Expect 4-5k miles on a rear and few if any flats. I run 60 psi and
only pump them up
