I'm not too surprised at the lack of CF on the trip. Western Michigan is a
huge tourist area, a lot of cyclotourists and other vacationers are around
in the summer and most of the destinations will be populated with touring

Actually, any myself included ferry their bikes across to visit and explore
the island. I mentioned the carbon fibre as reference, as in the past I had
mine and viewed several more. After thinking about it though I noticed a lack
of carbon fibre sittings along the entire two week perio
The bikes on Mackinac Island are transportation bikes. CF bikes would be
kinda useless since they are made for racing. The five mile loop might be
a good place for a race but I haven't heard of one.

We camped I'm state parks almost every night. We also had a full day to ride
nothing but Mackinaw Island.
We detoured a but along the way as well ending up with 645 miles over two week
or 11 days of actual riding.

Nice trip! Great place to get away from things. It's a great place to visit
and do some riding too. Would Bar Harbor in Maine be similar on the bridal
trails?
