Nice to see some seasonal weather and your pictures and stories are always so
well done. I can almost smell the pipe smoke as I enjoy the photos! :)

One of two ways, Bob, neither of which is a trade secret. Grin.
Cool, quick, and easy method: set iPhone timer, toss phone in graceful ark

Deacon Patrick,
I am very curious, how do you set-up the action shots with YOU in it. I
can think of several possibilities, but would like to ask the expert
instead. PM me if this is a trade secret.
Great pictures, as goes without saying.
Thanks!

Another interesting post with very good photos.
Winter must indeed start up high, because Quebec City, at about the

Sorry about that. I typed "Deak", but you know how these spell checkers
are. I suppose it's going to modify and "correct" this message, too, as I

Well, George, the rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated. Grin. And
good call! Pre-bludgeoned brain I backcountry telemarked (it was just
called backcountry skiing then) and loved it. Vertigo doesn't play well
with sliding on snow. My theory as to why it plays with a bike is the

Dead - you seem to have Nordic skiing and Telemarking written all over you.
Are you engaged in such Winter activities?

Yes, Andy, the jacket is Hilltrek cotton analogy. No laminate or coating,
but an inner liner that mimics the capilary action of animal fur, taking
moisture (vapor AND liquid) to the outer layer of ventile where it
evaporates. Works stunningly well. Best jacket I've ever
had. http://hilltrek.co.
Beautiful, peaceful.
Just ahead of us out east by enough time to dust off the residual needs put
to rest last spring when temperatures moderated. Patrick, is that jacket a
Hilltrek? I'm interested. I'm no longer impressed with laminates and
coatings.

Garth: I'm hoping a delayed start to our first snow (it often comes
mid-late September) means a hard, cold winter this year!
Doug: If so, winter only lasted 10 minutes, which is how long my bike lay
there before I took the picture. Grin.

You may be safe a wee bit longer, Lum Gim Fong. Winter lands from above,
and at 8-10,000 feet for most of my rides, it lands early and stays late.
Good news (for me) is I'm stupid enough to love it! Ear to ear grin.
Kai, I think you're seeing foreground perspective seeming to enlarge the
tire.
Lovely! It's still summer (and a very muggy one at that) for at least
another minute or so in NYC. Can't hardly wait for the snow to fall. What's
that whopper of a front tire you have on there? Looks huge, maybe lens
distortion, but from that angle it looks close to 3", maybe it's the snow

Cool pics, and thanks for the demonstrations that happy biking can happen
in all weather.
Be careful, though. In some parts you would get ticketed for even
mentioning the word "Winter" before its time. Ha ha!
49 winters is enough for me! ha ha!
Our Nov-March "cold" weather is enough for me. I
