It was weird taking the fenders off, Eric. I even took off the
kickstand, which is a first since I bought it. I moved the kickstand
to the Bombadil. It does look a little nekkid, but now when I look at
it I'm reminded of Jay's Hillborne.

dream about an orange Hillborne to go with my green. It's a good
bike, but the Schwalbe Marathon Supreme 40s are about as wide as I'm
comfortable with right now.

I took it through leg 1 of the trail route to work. Wildcat Canyon is
all clay, and in the spring time it's either hard as cement or ankle
deep peanut butter. There were still a few of those wet wallows, so
we're a couple weeks away from being able to clean that section. That
said, the Hillborne
An 80% dirt commute! That's living it up nicely.
We've got a pretty similar hunqa-style setup. I recently took off
fenders and racks so it'd be more manageable in rough dirt too.
I really like the Sam this way (naked, that is).
