True. However, my other two bikes have tires 50mm and 60mm wide. So these are positively skinny for that type of riding. Yes, the rail-trails are great. Ended up purchasing a season pass to take advantage of them. (Next on the list, lower half of Gandy Dancer trail.) Eric Platt St. Paul, MN
