I had an Aerobie when I was in middle school. Back in the late 80’s. I can wing
a disk pretty well. I gave my Aerobie all I had one day. I watched it clear
tall trees a couple hundred yards away. It was just going, going, gone. I
didn’t hunt for it. I’m still proud of that toss to this day.

The point of the Aerobie, pure and simple, is distance. It's why it was
invented and it's no contest with other flying discs. But for disc golf,
other team disc sports, or dog fetching you definitely need something with
more heft.
On the subject of discs and bikecamping, back in my rockclimbing
Flying discs and bicycles are peanut butter and chocolate! I took one on my
ride along The Divide so I made sure to get plenty of exercise along the
way. Great warm up in the morning and super fun as the sun waned. An
essential piece of bikepacking gear!
