Bill,
Use vs. cost wasn't justifiable.
I'm more a wrench and less an "avid rider' these days, tho I hope to change
that in '25.
& until I prove that to myself I don't need multiple Rivendells and my

Ah! I see the link is to both (awesome!) bikes...
Fat chance for $1500.
Quickbeam for $1200.

Prefer local sale, and I'm willing to drive to meet you within, say 200
miles of Bay Area.

I love the way the QB handles with big tires. They change the gearing and
slow down acceleration compared to a 28mm tire, but it's a fantastic bike
offroad, on gravel and just around town with fatties.

My 60cm with a 36mm Kenda Kwick on the back and a 41mm Schwalbe Marathon on
the front measures 85.4 standover at the center of the tube.
Fender note: the 41mm tire buzzes under a 52mm V-O Zeppelin fender. 38s fit
fine.

I've had Big Apple 50s on my QB, and now I run Marathon Supreme 40s. Both
handle fine. I switched because the BA's, albeit incredibly comfortable,
were slower than I wanted. The MS 40s are a great fit for the QB and quick
enough for my purposes.

Dear group,
Any ideas how Quickbeam handles with wide tires, say 37mm & up?
I have been toying with the idea of a 2-speed commuter (with a double crank
& single cog, like featured in Rivendelll Reader) with wide 650b tires.
And then came David`s Quickbeam :)
Thanks!

I didn't measure that when it was built up. Anyone with a built up 60cm
that can give some insight?

Thats a deal folks for a limited edition versatile, robust, unique bike. I
am fully enjoying my 60cm Quickbeam for commutes and tootles in the valley.
I wish I had paid only $700 for mine. I recommend a Nitto M-12 and basket
up front.

I realized that I'd forgotten to include a price. I added a post yesterday
including the price of $700 plus shipping if applicable, but since I'm new
to the group it takes a bit to post.
Thanks,
David

Sorry about the price issue. I completely flaked on that aspect. Not trying
to run up bids or anything at all. Looking for $700 plus shipping if
necessary. I'm located in Chicago. If I'm way off on the price, feel free
to guide me in the right direction.
