Bruce,
These were inspired by the unobtainium Hakkapeliitta (sans studs), no?
Is there ever a possibility you would consider doing a run of these in
584?

yes, please... Rock and Roads in 584 or 650B/27.5 what ever we are calling
them these days ... you'll sell a bunch as there is nothing with decent
off road tread in this size.

Hi All,
I was the lucky buyer of Andrews Rock and Road tires (thanks Andrew!).
I was hoping to use these on my Hunqapilar, and now I'm
reconsidering. Not because I lack clearance for these, but I'm having
the opposite problem. That is, I've become accustomed to the 50mm
Schwalbe Duremes which a
70 psi seems like a lot for a 40+ mm tire. Might they be skinnier at
say half that?
I have some quasi-motos, and if I pump them way up they seem to grow a
fair bit.

No doubt - these are good tires, I wish I had more clearance. In that shot,
look at the top, and you'll see the chain links, for perspective. There's
just not enough room for a quarter to slip past the chainstays, at least
not on my 66cm QuickBeam.
The BG site says they're 43 mm wide, the infor
Hey there Andrew -
And another thanks from me - I've been reading Mike-out-at-Black
Mountain Cycles posts regarding larger knobbier knibblies. He spoke
well of the BG tires.

Thanks for the pictures of the BG knobbly tires in the Quickbeam stays. I
was considering them for my green QB.
I think they'd still work with a little scissor work on the rear tire,
snipping off the side knobs.

Here are some pictures, mounted to the Velocity Dyad rims on my QuickBeam.

And - surprise - they're wider than I first thought. Bruce Gordon Cycles
says they're 43mm, but my calipers show them as 45.3mm wide at widest point

Andrew, a post without a pictures is like a kiss without a mustache (bars)!
:-)
This makes me want a Quickbeam (or Bombadill, or Hunqa) even harder.
I picked-up 4 tires at Bruce yesterday.
They will go for now on my Ventana.
Bruce is an amazing guy! We had a lovely hour chatting with him.
Cheers
Pleased to say that the new Rock 'n Roads fit a QuickBeam with adequate
clearance at the chainstays. BG is correct when they say the tires are 43mm
wide. I have about 1.5 mm clearance on each side, but that will grow when I
add two links to the chain, so the widest part of the tire moves back an
Not sure if all were aware that BG added clearance diagrams for the
new tires to his blog post. Sadness is finding that nope, they won't
fit a Legolas...

I agree. Not many like these for 700s. I just grabbed a couple. (Do wish they
came in all black casing, however.)

Super-excited for these tires. The originals had a great combination of
roll-speed and grip, and I suspect these will be even better due to the nicer
casing.
