"Need" of course being very strong language for my love of lobstahz, but how much do we really need anything that we know and love? In my experience lobster mitts give most all the benefits of gloves and mittens in one cozy unit, couple those with some studded tires and ride like the wind!, in t

I use lobstah mitts just because I'm from Maine ;) I find them to be a good mix between glove/mittens. the 'naked neighbors' keeping each other warm. Banding together as good neighbors allowing for good dexterity/grip on the bars. Digits 4/5 gripping the bar along w/ 1 and 2/3 doing the bra

I don’t understand the need for lobster mitts. I ride single track with mittens all the time and have no problem gripping and braking as needed. Yes, one is always compromised, but in those conditions, if I’m going so fast I need to grip, I’m going too fast anyway. Slow down, and I have no probl

Glomitts (gloves with a flip over mitten) make a great under mit for extreme cold (-10˚F and below), when you never want much bare skin exposed even when you need manual dexterity (but you’ll only have it for 8.3 seconds, so work fast!). In my experience with boiled wool mittens, buy to size. T

Lobster those mitts! So much better for biking that way, and you still have the warmth benefit of naked neighbors for your fingers. Riv content- dangle your fingers in piping hot coffee. But seriously, lobster mitts rule! -Kai BK NY -- You received this message because you are subscribed to t

And, of course, buy your gloves or mittens large, so that you have air space at the end, *when gripping the bar,* between end of fingers and end of gloves. On Mon, Nov 27, 2017 at 10:15 PM, Patrick Moore wrote: > [...] > > But I wholeheartedly recommend the De Feets for moderate cold. Relatively

Patrick: I've owned and used at least 2 pr of mittens with the finger cover part being attached as a flip up cover that can be velcroed back to leave your fingers clear. One was some sort of insulated synthetic design, this back in the early '90s; and the other one was thick, if not boiled, ragg wo

Alan. Mittens. I don’t wear gloves. Grin. I find them ineffective. When I need dexterity, I just pull of my mitten, do what needs doing, put the mitten back on. 4-ply boiled wool mittens, with Empire Canvas overmits for below 20˚F or so. Mittens: https://www.sweaterchalet.com/dachstein-woolwear
