Andy, Thanks. I'll be exploring to the East a bit more this Summer.

Indeed, Hugh. For me, without short term memory, it's something I've
learned to embrace because being semi-lost kind of my natural state now. It
really is amazing how fun and simple it is to re-figure things out when it
is needed and there is a lot of freedom in not bothering in between. Grin.
Deacon,
Yes I agree getting lost can be a grand experience or at least having a
general idea of where you want to go and the unknown up ahead can offer up
a new and wondrous experience. At my age those are precious.

It'll be a fun one! There's a big push to get the LA River & Aroyo Seco
routes completed. Those will be pretty amazing when it happens!

Great report... Some of the place names are familiar (I grew up in OC) but
most of my exploring in the Angeles was farther east. The flora + geology
largely looks the same though, so it brings back memories.

Wouldn't miss it. You'll be able to ride to the Ocean. Figure I'll park and
ride the LA River trail into downtown and then on to the West Side.

Looks like great trail riding. One of the advantages to mid-week rides is
the solitude. Lots of my favorite trails here in Orange County are quiet
during the week & a-buzz with MTBers on weekends. That shot of the top of
the water tank, making it look like a flying saucer, is especiall
looks like a fun ride Hugh. Looks like you are having a lot of fun on your
new Homer.
BTW...There are a lot of trails in the hills above there. More to explore.

Hugh, looks like a great ride. I take it that it was pretty quiet out there
and not a lot of other explorers? Thanks for taking the time to take some
pictures and post them here. Keep exploring and posting here.

Nice photos and a nice day in LA too! Still some "green" up in those hills.

Great ride! Getting lost is a grand experience, aye? You're about to go
from green to brown. We're still looking at a few weeks before we start to
go green, though we saw a few blades of grass in our front yard show up
green yesterday. Not even our crocuses (croci?) are out yet.
