Thanks so much for all the great advice and for sharing your experiences

Jacob, as a Kuat owner, I'm very curious as to what exactly happened with
your rack? Which model do you have? What part failed when you say it "fell
apart"?

I have a Kuat and do yourself a favor and stay VERY clear of them. It fell apart and my bike almost fell off on the freeway. On Nov 5, 2023, at 06:03, Ron Cramer wrote:IMHO the Kuat Sherpa. Had other racks, but this is my favorite. The Sherpa is light, therefore easy to mount. But I would use an
I use 1UP but needing accessories like the EZ pull handle kind of irks me.
If I could do it again I would just get the Rocky Mounts GuideRail

Comes with a handle already and a chain lock.

is light, therefore easy to mount. But I would use an additional cable lock.

Looking for recommendations for a bike rack for a Prius for my fendered
Betty. Lots of tray mount racks seem to not be made for fenders. And the
hanging style would need a bar since my Betty is a step through. This
isn't for my car. I don't like to drive. Thanks in advance.

Hollywood Sports Rider SE works will for me. Bike with and without
fenders. But all my bikes have a normal top tube. A step thru requires
their Bike Frame Adapter Bar to create a fake top tube.

I highly agree, I love the options to fit many different wheelbases and
sizes and types, fenders too!
They also have a simple classic look, nothing fancy, just work well. If
you get the big 4 bike one like I have, i recommend the floor dolly for
that sucker to store it, its a bit heavy.

I agree. Hollywood racks are quite good and reasonably priced. Tim

1up all the way. But if you live in Los Angeles don’t trust the lock and
special Allen key that come with them. We have thieves here who can get them
off your hitch without leaving a mark. I had a U-lock around mine andthe hitch
for years and two weeks with it only locked up with the stock lock
If I was starting from scratch, I would probably go for the 1-Up racks that
so many folks here recommend. Yeah, they look heavy a bit clunky, but they
really do seem the best fit for all variety of bikes, especially the
larger, longer wheelbase bikes and bikes adorned with racks, fenders,
baskets,
Hollywood Racks make excellent racks that fit all types of bicycles,
vintage to modern to everything in between.

I’m always going to recommend the 1-up rack. Yes it’s very expensive. I finally
gave in and bought one because we have such a variety of bike sizes in my
household My only gripe is that it’s very heavy. (We do have the heavy duty
version because some of the bikes are quite large/long). But I’m v
