I can't speak to the topic of paper boys, specifically, as ours have also
been folks in cars, but the delivery-related thing I am starting to see in
my neighborhood is Door Dash, Amazon, and other delivery folks on bicycles.
I notice these people because they are not "bike messenger types" on
fixie
Oof, plus, they're gorgeous on that bike.

Looking for either:
Four red Paul Comp spring adjuster nuts
Or
Four colorful not black or silver Paul Comp spring adjuster nuts
(hopefully at least one is red)
To use with my Neo-Retro brakes.
Also perhaps some colorful Moon Units.

I think it's a shame how comfortable folks are on this forum about smack
talking someone else's build. That's a cool looking bike and I hope someone

Hey all,
I found a guy who makes handlebar snack bags (amongst many other bike bags)
and I love the ones I got from him very much (he is @greg.newland on

In my most recent attempt to find a bike satisfactory to my wife for a
camping rig, I picked up a nice MB-4 today that needs a longer stem with a
removable faceplate. Would prefer something "period" appearing, if
possible. Anyone have a Salsa or similar, by chance? Please e-mail me

I'm trying to piecemeal the funds for a bucket list bicycle that's come
available. Have for sale in Sacramento the following:

Nitto Mustache Bar, wear from tape and use, structurally fine: $20
Vintage Sakae MTE-100 seatpost, 25.4: $40

I can't stop thinking about trying a Bullmoose bar on my Atlantis. Anyone
have a quill Bullmoose they'd part with? I don't mind if the finish isn't
perfect, it'll match my Atlantis. Send me a message if you have one, I'm in
Sacramento. Thanks!

So far my number one choice is the 1UP. it looks like it grabs the front
wheel forward enough to not hit my front racks. The biggest front rack I
have is the Pelago rack. It's quite expensive but looks like a lifetime
piece of kit. Also seems to be sturdy enough to carry four heavier bikes,

I just put a Pelago front rack on my older Stumpjumper and I’m very impressed.
I wasn’t familiar with the brand beforehand. It has three options for “feet” at
the bottom which solved my issue of only having rear braze ons, and several
options for the top allowing you to fiddle with height and le

The facts: I bought this bike on impulse because I’ve wanted one for years and
the opportunity presented itself. Right from the start I was hesitant about the
narrow stock bar and tried a few different ones, but it’s made for the
Specialized BB-1 that’s on it, so it’s all back together again.

I want to thank those of you who chipped in on the handlebar question.
I think I have determined that this Rock Combo just doesn’t fit me, no matter
what bar I put on it. So it is all back to stock, will be up for sale.
Thank goodness for my always perfect Atlantis.

I haven’t forgotten the pics. I’m on vacation and apparently can’t add pics on

I have the Atlantis with me and will have the RockCombo back when I get home.
Then i can give it a proper test drive.
And take some pics.
I will say this: the Atlantis with dirt drop stem and Albatros
Yes! Pics are coming! I had to drop the bike at a repair shop friend because I
didn’t have the tool to service the bottom bracket. But prior to this I rode it
in stock configuration and I don’t actually think it’s too small. I think I had
to adjust to its design. I think the stem is high enough
MB-1 is set up with Titec riser bars and the Atlantis with Albatross bars
and an 80mm dirtdrop stem.
But, if you want to look at bike pics, I can do that. Thanks!

A bike geek since I was 11 or so, I discovered Bridgestone in 1991 when I went
shopping for a mountain bike to take to college. Couldn’t swing the MB-1 I
wanted so I bought a General Pro Shadow.
In the late ‘90’s I attended Interbike for work and bought an Atlantis. (Still
