Hello All. Looking for a little expertise / advice on my Riv. I was in a
collision on my Appaloosa last week. A group of kids on bikes deliberately
rammed into me on a multi-use trail here in Napa. My handlebars took the
brunt of the initial impact, but me and

Some context: put a new wheel on my Appaloosa a few days ago. New wheel,
all other parts of the drivetrain the same. A few minutes into the first
ride around the block, I heard a ping from the rear of the drivetrain.
Stopped to see if the chain was off. Nope. Got on and didn't hear it

Thank you for the suggestions, everyone.
I sold the bike this morning from my initial Craigslist posting. I wasn't
expecting it to move that quickly based on past experience. The person I
ended up selling it to turned out to be a friend from high school who I
hadn't talked to almost thirty
Wondering if anyone has recommendations on where to sell
non-Rivendell-related bikes. I've sold bikes on local Craigslist before,
but am interested in posting a bike I am looking to sell in multiple
places. Any experiences with eBay or other sites? Recommendations?
For the record, I'm maki

Quick question for everyone. I have a nice XT derailer that I'm swapping
over to one of my bikes, but am having a problem with squeaking coming from
the upper pulley. I love the derailer, but actually removed it from
another bike because the squeaking was driving me nuts. I tried everything
It would look lovely with either, but my vote would be for the orange on
the sage green. I'm in the process of setting up the exact opposite color
scheme on my newly orange Appaloosa. I've picked up lime green bar tape
and am playing around with colored shellac to get the right sage-ish color.
I've been loving the Vine Trail for my less adventurous rides. The loop up
to Yountville and around Yount Mill road has been my standard ride for the
past few months. Having ridden in the valley for decades, I can say that I
absolutely hate riding on the roads, particularly with all of the tour
It's a fact.
