I too use and like the saris bones on my wife’s car. I like it just fine. I’ve
never had an issue. I got it used for next to nothing. My only recommendation
with any of these types of racks would be to use a few pieces of clear bra, or
helicopter tape to protect the car paint.

I have a Joe Appaloosa with 50mm soma Cazadero tires on it, Fenders, and no to
overlap at all. My bike is a 59 cm, I’m 6 foot 2. Toe overlap becomes more of
an issue in smaller sized frames however.
