Apologies — neglected to mention that the seat post is 27.2 x 250mm.

If anyone has one of the recent 57cm varieties, would you mind sharing the
standover in the middle of the top tube, along with your tire width? Just
curious. I searched for a geometry sheet but came up empty. Thanks.

Hello folks, and happy Summer.
I know bike parts can be scarce as hen's teeth, so I'm casting a wide net
for components for an upcoming 9-speed Sam Hillborne build:
- 2x low/wide crankset
- cantilever brakes and hangers
- Choco or Billie bars
- Nitto Tallux stem 12cm
- 700c wheelset, 32h, Shimano
Long shot, but I’m in the market for a single TT Sam in this size range, the
“medium-ish” size through the ages. Cantilevered preferred. I had one in my
cart on the last round… and then poof it was gone.

The recent batch size naming has changed — i.e. the frames formerly known as 55
and 58 are now 54 and 57.
Anyone know how the geometry changed? The charts still reflect the old sizing.

I love my Monster Cross Disc, which has knobbyish 40mm tires. I’ve often
thought of supplementing it with a rim brake Monster Cross for road bike use
with 32mm tires and fenders.
To keep this on topic, the Roadeo looks quite nice!

Hi Matt, thanks for offer but that would be too big for me. In any event, the
bike is now sold.
FYI, the Ram won’t handle 35mm with fenders. It’s a great bike but it’s in fact
one of the reasons that I sold it, for want of more tire clearance.

Agreed. Those XA cameras were the best. I owned two and they each died when the
shutter button stopped working. I think this was a common problem. Still, if I
ever got back into pocket 35mm photography I’d look for a good one.

Yes. The center of the BB, and the center of the top of the head tube.
It’s a useful system to compare different bikes, together with head tube and
seat tube angles.
You can compare the bikes on graph paper. Or, it’s not hard to create a
Photoshop file with a scaled photo of your bike, and th

I like Justin’s suggestion of the AHH. Or maybe the Atlantis, MIT, as I would
fit in the 650b range for both.
Thanks everyone. I’ve been mulling over a frame for almost a year now, and it’s
funny how different life circumstances along the way have changed it all. Good
thing I’m not wealthy...
Eric, you bring up a good point.
I don’t weave around cars per se but the sharrows are narrow where I am.
What about the Nitto B302 All Rounder bars? 49cm wide, 65mm rise? Are they a
popular choice?

Thanks Chris for the advice.
I’m guessing that you were straddling a 58cm, which has roughly an 85cm
standover, with 32ish-mm tires.
Although with shoes on, I’d think you’d be able to at least stand over that
bike.

But weren’t there also “56” Sams (700c wheels) with 57.5 effective measurement,
single top tubes?
“55” and “56”... I hesitate to ask, but does that refer to the seat tube
measurement, c-to-top, right? If not, how does one get that measurement if it’s
not on the geo chart?

Around 9 or 10cm, depending on which drop bars I decide to use.

I have indeed search around for a 56 Sam with the shorter top tube. (I had a
WTB post a little while back.) But I’m not really counting on one showing up,
hence my decision point between the 55 and 58 sizes.
