I did a section of this trail a couple of years ago with a friend of mine.
Road my Surly Midnight Special. It POURED almost the entire trip (I think
we pretty much just followed a slow moving weather system from west to
east). That said, the fire departments that pop up along the route allow

Hi,
Still pursuing a bike for my 5’2” wife. Have had a couple of near hits but
nothing that’s been a perfect match (price/color/build, etc.).
Anyway, looking in to 50cm Cheviots if anyone happens to be looking to part
with one.
Thanks!

I ordered and am awaiting delivery. I'll report back on how well they fit
the Shimano shifters. I do love the plasti-dip idea though.

Loved this, thank you. Reminds me of all the family cycling trips we did
when our kids were younger. Always challenging for a variety of reasons but
I love that we did them. Thanks.

Hello all.
I searched some of the threads here and it looks like there is at least one
5'-ish tall rider with a 45cm Clem who is happy with the fit. I'm looking
for a bike for my wife, she is *barely *5' though would argue that she's
unequivocally 5' :-)
Anyway, we are looking at doing some li

Hello.
I am headed to eastern shore, MD area for a day or two and will have a bit of
free time. Just wondering if anyone knows of any interesting bike shops that
might be worth visiting while I’m in the area. TIA for any recommendations.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi all, I am new to this group. Picked up a Joe A several weeks ago and
have been mostly lurking here but after yesterday’s ride, am hoping to get
some guidance from this group’s experience.

I think I’ve got 175 on both the LHT and the Joe A.

@James that Shimano triple option looks great (and possibly affordable),
thanks. Also, if you're not familiar with the gravel/county parks in the
Navesink/Highlands areas, feel free to reach out for some route
suggestions.

@nick: I'd be interested in seeing what a triple looks like just leaving
off the large chainring. I presume it really depends on the triple but I'd
love to find something that looks passable, as it's tricky to find a silver
compact double that doesn't break the bank. The 2 chainrings on a triple

I am new to this group (I just recently acquired my dream bike, a Joe
Appaloosa) and am going to try to make the Friday ride, too, assuming temps
are ok. I ride the towpath regularly and have done a few S240s out that
way, looking forward to meeting some of you in person!
