Paul,
Wonderful build, my friend.
Atlantis-es been built in Japan by Toyo in the early 2000s and then by
Waterford in the US until a few years ago when Riv offered up a MIT
version. However, I have heard whispers that if you throw down enough cash
that you can still get a MUSA (Made in the USA) A
I also run a 139 on front. I think you are going to like it a lot! Don’t
forget to get that camping seat that Riv offers to pad down the front rack
if carrying fragile goods!

Thanks, John! Yeah, it was a real special day in the front range! The
gradient was real crazy!

I second that sentiment on the practicality of mixtes for all folks. Mixtes
are just pure magic. There was about a year after getting my Clem-L where I
just refused to throw my leg over a top tube. It was all smooth Clem-L
riding that I would do. M.O.M. Is also a delightfully confusing acronym for

Nathan, the bike looks awesome! Orange and blue has always been one of my
favorite color combinations, and that is not just because they are classic
Denver Bronco colors.

Carl, I hear you. Sometimes these objects do feel like they create an
exclusive culture. I would argue that they are just part of one of the many
bicycling subcultures that exist in our consumer capitalist culture.
However, those cyclists don’t represent the everyday bicyclist and those
objects may
This thread is amazing. I have really enjoyed reading everyone’s posts! I
enjoyed it so much, I decided to contribute my first post. Today, I took the
Clem-L out for some post lunch ramblin’ along two local greenways. Today, I
stopped after riding for roughly an hour and had an apple while some

I hope you find one, Mike. I sold my car and waited 8 months for one of
those last MUSA built 58cm Atlantis in the age of true temper leaving the
steel market. I haven’t regretted it for a day. They are truly magical
bikes.

Gosh, what a cool bike! Even though I have a Clem L and an Atlantis, I
still pine after a 58 SimpleOne. It reminds me of my chubby-tire’d Swobo
Accomplice, which was my gateway to the Riv world. One day maybe!

I am a huge Hydroflask Devotee as well, and I have found that Randi Jo’s
bartender bags are the only thing that I like to put mine In. I will slip
my 16oz hydroflask Into my king cages every now and then, but that has led
to scratches on that water bottle.

I got a forest green Clem 59-L about a month ago (my PBH is 89). When I
decide which bike to ride to work each morning, It has been giving my
Atlantis a run for its money. Yes, I enjoy it that much. It’s a magical
bike like all rivendells tend to be.
I have had no issues with the water bottle cage
