[RBW] Question Concerning Drop Handlebars

There is a bewildering array of drop handle bars. Until I started reading this list and seeing the various references to proper width and drop, I never thought about the matter. Years ago in my racing days I just used the bars that came on the bike and I have done little experimentation since.
