I purchased a Cheviot earlier this year. I got a huge discount on mine
because of the middle stay issue. With mine Riv sanded down the middle
stay so it would accommodate the chain and cog. It seems fine with no
issue to frame integrity. The 2 chain thing drove me a little crazy.
Regards.
Thanks. I plan on it. Just getting as much feedback as possible.

I have a new frame in the box with headset and bottom bracket installed. I
do not have time to spend on bike projects right now so I want to send this
one off. I will go $750 for it. Local pick-up preferred.

I have a new 59cm San Marcos that I am thinking of selling. I removed it
from the box to rust proof it but have not done anything with it, it's just
sitting there and will most likely not have any time this year build it up.
Has a headset and BB installed by Riv. $850+shipping

I own a San Marcos frame, and had a Rambouillet a few years back. The
San Marcos is built to the same quality as the Ram but uses nicer
lugs, at least nicer looking. The bottom bracket is actually stamped
"Rivendell"! In terms of ride quality, that is still up in the air

I hate to keep bringing up Soma but the lugged Stanyan is a great frame and
looks like you can get it for 450 on ebay right now which is an amazing
price for these.

Have you looked at the Soma San Marcos, the 54cm does not have the 2TT but
I believe the geometry is similar to the 56cm but not sure.

I don't think anything is really 100% made in the USA, most stuff is
imported and then assembled here. I think it is awesome to buy MUSA
though, even if they are assembling the stuff it still creates jobs.

I am curious why there is no post about this frame. I actually think it's
a lot nicer then my Rambo, it is a well thought out bike. From what I can
tell other then the seat, all the lugs are Riv's; even the bottom bracket
lug has the rivendell stamp on it. The price was hard to beat!
