I do the same thing with angling the bars slightly downward to give
myself a more natural wrist position. I've never felt slower on my
upright, but I also haven't felt more comfortable, either.

I'm finally in the process of building up a Protovelo I got last
summer. (Got in an accident, have been sidelined for months, long,
boring story)
Anyway, I'd like to get some opinions on this wheelset. I'm a bigger
guy (about 250lbs) and probably not dropping much anytime soon. (too

Here, here to the Champion Flyer. I got one in aged honey brown and
it's amazing. I was riding a honey brown b-17 for a while and feared
the "break-in" period. I got the Flyer a month or so ago and haven't
looked back. The best part is leaving my cycling shorts and home and
going out for a jaunt
THE QB IS OFFICIALLY SOLD.
Thanks to everyone who had interest, but this bike is making it's way
to the west coast as we speak. All the best to it's new owner and may
