Wow! What a beautiful biking family! The independence, the grace, the
beauty of riding. Your daughter looks especially stylish with the one pant
leg folded up!
I hope you do get a new head badge soon.

Such a GREAT bike, the swoop is classy but the canti studs that allow
v-brakes are the major advantage of this prototype. I have the 55cm and
can’t say enough great things about it. I had flared drop bars and those
were excellent with mini-v-brakes (80mm arms) but it really shines with

Your taping job looks pretty good to me.
What are you trying to accomplish, exactly that your present tape doesn’t
do? More cushion? Nicer color? Longer life? More grip?

I'm sure you're right. I also didn't read that it was repainted before I
posted it. Still a cool bike.

I should have said no one role won't do it the way that I wrap them, which
is overlapped just under halfway. Not sure how else to say that. A tight
wrap. But if your wrap is more spread out it ?MAY do it, but I still doubt
it. They are cool bars. I'm a fan of tan/brown with the Atlantis but

This one is unique as its the only prototype with the stock headbadge. I
think the other ones had Gallop tube decals but no headbadge.

I want to get a second wheelset for my Redwood to experiment with 700c vs

normally build my own but would rather find something ready to swap in. If

When I wore long hair I could never get caps to stay on my head — lost a
good bright yellow Campy cap in a strong wind, and I had to resort to

Again, SKF, 126 mm, JIS.
If anyone has one to sell, I’m very interested.
If I can’t find one I’ll probably ask Phil to mail me a 126 mm spindle but
I do want an SKF. At least 1 Phil out of a score has gone bad too quic

As for the head badge, I may reach out to Riv and see if I can buy one. I
think she'd like that.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I knew it was an earlier run. The bike was
sold in May 2017 by a Riv dealer here in Indianapolis, which is no longer
in business in the state. Hazel is 13 years old but living downtown she
gets around pretty much all over by herself or with a friend; most often on
Congratulations! I hope she loves it.
Regarding the headbadge, I'm pretty sure Rivendell HQ will sell you one.
You may even have a choice between bronze or pewter color, since they made
both and picked colors at random. At that time, they came loose in the
box, and the owner was supposed to
It’s true; the early Clems didn’t have the cream fills. We have a 1st
edition Clem H in that French blue and no cream fills. I think it was the
2nd run that your bike came from because the first Clementine colors were
orange and turquoise. (I think?)

Perhaps Leah can chime in, but I believe that French blue was an early run
color, before they were doing the cream accents on the lugs and fork crown.
When I had my 2019 bronze green (since sold) it had the cream on it.
As you have probably noticed, the head badges are attached with adhesive,
Riv have that combo relisted as of today, 10/13/24

My smaller frame Betty Foy is a 58 cm frame (to become the 55 cm frame in
later iterations) and has 650 B wheels.
Geometry comes via a two-year-old post from Garth:

Frameset sold. Thanks for your interest. I'll take stock of my unused parts
(these and others) and post them separately down the road.
