Very groovy looking Hunq, Weth! How big are those tires? Bikie's right.
They mean business!

I've watched you try a number of Rivendells over time, but this one looks
like a keeper.

I'm sorry, what logic are we talking about?
I shove back and sit up for low-cadence, high-torque pedaling, and I move
forward and down when I want to spin fast. My riding includes both extremes
but it also includes the entire middle ground. So again, I don't understand
"logic."

That logic would only make sense if most of your riding exists in either of those two extremes. On Apr 27, 2023, at 9:15 PM, Joe Bernard wrote:I sit upright because I like it and I use really low gears because the hills are steep. On Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 6:08:22 PM UTC-7 Patrick Moore wrot

But has your level of irony also increased proportionally to your
acquisition of Rivendells? *That* is the crucial question.

OTOH: this is puzzling: I see so many Rivendells on this list with very,
very high bars, but with 52 tooth granny cogs; IOW gearing designed for
low-torque fast-cadence twiddling. I don't get it. When I spin I move
forward and down; when I torque I shove back and sit up. What gives?
Someone explain
After years of good service, my Brooks B17 blew out the leather at the
nose. Is there a North American source for repair? Any idea what this costs?

To be fair - after acquiring a real deal Rivendell, I've since become
considerably less interested in other bikes (gasp) as it's the only bike I
want to spend time on. I can understand where he is coming from...

Mike: Can you send me larger jpgs (wheel profile, rim section closeup)? Are
they tubular?
Thanks.

Yes, there are times when I feel (seriously) like converting it to a single

those.
If I stripped it of fenders, rack, lighting system, and bag I guesstimate
the weight would drop to about 25 lb, not bad for steel and alumin

@ Brendonoid: Wondering if you could not try Centerpulls on your Sam? They
can be mighty effective. You could always braze on posts (I have done this
on my Sam for the record) if the Centerpulls don't do it for you.

My 2004 53 cm (54?) Atlantis with 26” wheels features toe overlap and not much room out back with a “fist full of seatpost”, for big baggage. It’s pretty nimble off road snd very stable on. Set up with Albatross, love it. On Apr 27, 2023, at 06:57, 'peech1...@yahoo.com' via RBW Owners Bunch wrote:

I am down to 2 bikes: a 2010 Hillborne and an Atlantis MIT. Both are set
up for upright riding with albatross bars. I love them both. Hillborne
has the "toe clap overlip" (clever huh?) that the MIT doesn't. Both have
their merits with the hill borne seeming to be a zippier ride. MIT is a
