Richard...
I highly praise your words of explaining your love and appreciation for
your 52cm Clem Smith Jr. "L" bicycle from the design to the specific
details that makes the Clems' so wonderful to ride.
Thank-you.

Hey Will thanks! That's exactly what I was after.
Re: the non published weight limits/tether advice, I wonder if it's because
of failures that happened? Either way I don't plan to put a ton of weight
on it. I think it'll be alright.

Thanks for all the input. Note I'm wanting to compare my 58 Atlantis to a
55 Platy so I'm "downsizing". Currently the Atlantis has 70 mm Dirtdrop &
MAP Ahearne bars so the hands are a bit behind the stem, & I wouldn't mind
them being even closer.
Good to hear that the front wheels have gotten f
Hello friends — I'm looking for an Atlas wheel with a SON dynamo hub. 32H,

Thank you

These frames really do play better with more swept back bars… specifically any of the “_osco” bar models. I wouldn’t want anything more forward than the Toscos on my Gus… the frames are just too long for anything else, IMO.On Feb 7, 2023, at 9:10 PM, Joe Bernard wrote:You're all set. Your origina
I am no bike geometry expert & I’ve really only ridden one Rivendell, my size 52 Clem “L”. I am not counting my size 57 Gus as I’ve only ridden it (sans brakes) down the street to check fit. It has a lot in common with the Clem, obviously.I think there is a lot more to this design formula than desi

Also note depending on the swept back bars, rivs lineup have gotten further
back.
Albatross or albastache are fairly short. Tosco, Billie, and losco are
considerably more swept back. Likely in conjunction with longer top tubes.

Which I am always a little confused by because you want to get the bars
closer but you have to extend the reach through geometry or long stems to

Hi Doug — If you haven't yet I'd recommend calling Rivendell, someone there
would be happy to talk to you about the differences in the frames.

I'd consider selling the banana bag separate for $35 net to me (I know
you're not interested, but others may be), but not the Candy Bar bag. I
have another Banana bag on my Ram that I'll pair with the Candy if that one
doesn't sell.

Ted,
The place I took the photo is about 5-minute ride from my room.
Snow is mostly disappeared now.
Snow bank indeed makes road narrower, but I ride mostly on non-busy back
roads, so no problem.
Slin, I'm pretty sure that your wife will love that beautiful Platypus!

@ Zac: The 32F on my Quickbeam routinely exceeds the 4.4-lb load. I'd go
with Analog's 15-lb limit. As load increases, slow-speed steering
