Hehe, it's not even an accurate perspective, I think Gus and Susie are
going to hold their value for a long time. Y'all should buy them and keep
them!

Smalls and Mediums in all colors still available. Come on gang, I need
somebody to grab a 51cm Mermaid Gus and go mountain biking with it and
scratch it all up, then sell it to me cheap later. Let's go!

I think there's one call for Motolites in this thread so I'm throwing down
a second one. They're great, I love them, they should be the only brakes on
all bikes. Is what I'm saying.

On my Quickbeam, the only Paul braking bits I've got are green Moon Units.
I have used the Neo-Retro / Touring setup on another bike, and switched to
Minimotos due to brake judder. I've never had judder on my Quickbeam. As
Mark said, regular road levers work with both minimotos and cantis.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences with Paul brakes. I do like
the way the brake cable connects to the minimotos, same as a v-brake, no
cable hanger required. I'm planning to have a small front rack. I'll have
to make sure the rack tang doesn't interfere with the brake cable as it

Good Day,
Looking for a clean pair of Shimano BL-r600 brake levers if anyone has a
pair they are willing to part with.
Lots of functionally similar levers out there including the r400s, but I am
specifically interested in only this model for the hot dish of a build in
progress.
Thanks for you
Updating to mark as *Sold*. Thanks.

I am looking to buy a Selle Anatomica H1 (with steel rails with a weight
limit of 250 lbs.) black saddle that is gently used or new and is in good
condition. If you have one, send me an email off the LIST.

Patrick - are you spec'ing a 31.8 clamp size because you're going to use
the bars with possibly a threadless stem with a 4-bolt bar clamp? If so,
it's too bad that you don't want an anatomic bar because the one fits all
of your other criteria better than some of the other recommendations is th
Hi Gang,
On the hunt for a ~55ish Atlantis/Appaloosa. To a lesser extent a Hillborne
or Romanceur. Frameset or complete is ok. Older frame with the shorter
chainstays also ok.
In Canada so ideally on this side of the border, or I'd have hopped on that
gorgeous Appaloosa in Portland already.
Thanks, good to have first-hand approval of the Hovers.

another vote for the touring Canti rear/ Neo retro front set up, though
one caveat, i recently swapped out front racks, and the new one has a fork
tang thats a little higher, requiring a very long straddle cable, braking
has been fine but in my mind feels a little less stopping power.

Man, wonderful info about the 74s – thank you for taking the time to relay
that. The above posted photos of them show a significant amount of
modification (cutting) to fit which I might be game to do however what I
won’t tolerate is losing ample clearance around the tire. I’m about to head

John - I like the combination very much, but I don't think it is
significantly *better* than other brake set-ups, and do not necessarily
champion this set-up over others. I went this route because (a) I, too,
felt bad leaving the QB brake stop bridge hanging out all alone, and (b)

That's great info, though too bad the 74s won't fit out of the box.
Before giving up on 2.25s and fenders, I'd take some measurements and see
if Flat 65s would work in the frame and fork (and chain in low/low). If so
you should be able to get them setup with the 2.25s G-ones since they don't

I have a set of smooth 74's in my shop for another bike (not yet fitted)

If you aren't doing fenders then I vote Minimotos. I was able to
comfortably fit Snoqualmie's with VO Zeppelin 52mm fenders on my Simpleone,
but in that scenario you definitely need cantis.
I have the Minimoto up front and Touring Canti in the rear set up on a
