I had the same issue with the stem but didn't attribute it to being a
prototype. I can't use taller stems at all because they just don't go down
deep enough. Is that not the case with standard Riv's?
I used Billie's and really enjoyed it. It's clear that the frame was built
for sweptbacks.

Eric ,
I did the same thing I think it’s the outer bend I compared my bar with a nitto

Off the topic of this thread, I'd just like to report that if/when I open
my one-man offroad allroad bicycle boutique up in Gold Country, I will
consider using the name: Dirt Drip

Ok, this is really, really embarrassing, but I rechecked my Ortho bars
before packing them up for return, and they are not, definitely NOT as
FUBAR'ed as I had described earlier.
I'm really doubting my sanity here. I remeasured where the bar clamp
section was, checked it over with calipers, a

The adapter cage setup is "ok". I had it on my Motobecane restoration, set
up with 13-32 6 speed in the back, 30/46 in the front. It covered the
range fine, but the Campy rear derailleur doesn't track the shape of the
cassette the way modern derailleurs do. I swapped it out for a better

Eric, The bar clamp section of my Ortho bars is much more off center than
yours, and I think if I sold them to someone sight unseen, they would be
justifiably PO'd. If I tried to clamp my Ortho bar in a stem, I would be
tightening the stem down on the section transitioning from the 25.4mm clamp
Hey JP - I think photographing with a *severe cross-chain* looks cool, in a
silly, laughing-in-the-face-of-danger-but-not-really sort of way. And I
know you're not *supposed* to, but I sometimes (read: frequently) ride with
the chain crossed like that anyway, so long as the chain clears the fron
I concur. I've got the R10 front and rear derailleurs on my Soma San Marcos
with a 10-speed 11-32 cassette and a VO 46/30 crankset, and shifting is
smoth and trouble-free. The R10 rear even works better than the XT 780 rear
derailleur that it replaced. Very happy with my microSHIFT experien
Current Pacenti hubs are Bitex. I would say thats likely what they are.
They are a bit loud but are great light weight hubs.

Have someone take 3 pictures of you riding from the side. Hands on the
Hoods, Ramps and Tops. If you have natural elbow bend in the ramps, go
3cm shorter. If you only have natural bend on the tops, you need shorter
reach bars and a shorter stem. Something on the order of an 80mm reach bar
The hubs are Pacenti branded too, not just the rims. The hubs look like
Bitex, but are more loud than the Bitex wheelset I pieced together for my
Black Mt Monstercross.

In case anyone ever wondered, I have an R10 also and even though it's rated
for 28T max it shifts an 11-32 no problem. At least on my Riv which is
44-28 in the front.

These are all really cool when seen together like this. I have been curious
to try and old Campy derailleur with the Soma adapter cage.

Has anyone tried that and was it a keeper or just an oddity?

Although the R10 RD-R47 box specifies a max of 28 tooth cassette, as it’s a
long cage, does anyone have any experience with it working up to 32 or so?
Thanks.

I do like the looks of those Roadeos...nice accents with the Jagwire and
blue chainring bolts.
Who makes the black hubs? Suntour superbe or Shimano dura-ace?
