I love my quills, but one thing I don't love is that mounting tires is

Thanks so much for the response folks. My original was delayed in showing
up. After the new update I was sized at 54.5. Pre-ordered one and I am
super excited. Now comes the tough but fun part of waiting for the frame
and obsessing over the components !

Sean, thanks for the tip. I may try this next time. For now, a helpful
member of this group has come to my aid with a vintage Deore hub.
I've said it before, but I'll repeat: I really enjoy the free education I
get from this list. And the bike pictures.

I did the same adjustment with my Microshift bar-end shifter on a recent

I forgot to follow up. Tightening the D-ring as suggested here did the
trick of course. I turned it clockwise about a half turn, then backed off
that position just a wee bit during the test ride (in light snow!) and
found the sweet spot. Easy peezy! Thanks all!

Hey all!
I recently picked up a Rambouillet. I'm really liking it except for the
rims. It has an Open Pro and a DT RR 1.1. The DT especially is VERY
difficult to mount and unmount tires. Mainly, though, I'd just like to run
35mm tires.
I really like the hubs, and I've built wheels before. I'm
I've got two extra budget seatposts that I don't need. If you've got a
budget build on the horizon, perhaps you could use one:
1. A generic black aluminum 27.2mm x 350mm. $10
2. Kalloy supplied by Rivendell with my Atlantis. 26.8mm x 250mm. $15
Hopefully you can come pick it up off my porch
The webpage says 700c.

The geometry chart is outdated and riv is currently revising it. You need
to call Rivendell and ask them. My guess is that a 58 cm is 700 C but my
old 2012 was 650 b 🤷

The Clem L is an excellent bike for all around riding. I ride it on trails,

maybe the Susie is your thing. But if you're looking for an all rounde

I would also check the tension the D-ring . I typically start tightening
all the way , put the shifter under max tension and start loosening it
until it barely holds it in that position. I have found that this gives me
the right balance of tension.
