Nice! What kind of saddle is that? Did you have to add bag loops?

It looks good, whatever it is, and I say this as someone who usually
dislikes a lot of quill showing.

I think the reason people are so excited about the Hillborne’s is that they
resemble something of a more mainstream bike. I realize it’s not entirely
true, but it seems like for several months, the only bikes you could buy
from Riv had insanely long chain stays or were all step-thru mixtes.

I’ve seen the limit listed as 47-48mm without fenders on the Riv site but I
suspect some of you have pushed the limits.
How fat did you go?

True about sourcing, and the leather and canvas are fine, if not as good as

Hi, I have a pair of Bosco Bullmoose (so, stem included as the bar and stem are
all one piece). It will be expensive to ship because it’s nearly impossible to
find a box. Because of the dimensions, expect like $45 to ship. (Ask me how I
know...)

The material sourcing probably changed, almost inevitable over time these

Dave, those look nice. If I don’t like the MKS I have coming I will look
at these. Wet riding would not be an issue for me and I like the short

It's a lovely build Mark. Looks enviably comfortable!
I'm a Wolbis owner too. The bike is great for the places like I see in
your pictures. One thing I have started to notice is these hillie bikes
are super stable. Even with a little distracted riding, the chances of a
crash is much less.
Ray,
In a word, yes - I kind of went through the whole goldilocks process trying
to find what I wanted for day-to-day rides including commuting. The
Bombadil breaks one rule--that it's not so expensive that I worry about
it--but I'm trying to let go of that fear (and double lock it!). The Cle
I'm a fan of VO's Sabot. It has a large platform (100mm by 100mm, IIRC),
is aluminum and silver, and has shortish rounded pins for grip. The pins
don't rip up my shoes, but they also don't grip well when the pedal's wet.
That last bit is their one downside, but it's a price I'm willing to pay
Randall,
I'm pretty sure the bike you describe was their second batch, the first one
being green with gold decals. Both of those batches were single-color, so
no cream head tubes.

Thanks for the help. I was aware that Riv does have the Banana Sax in royal in

The Sam Hillborne is a shorter chainstay not racer boy influenced. There
