Once Rivendell sent me a 700c frame with a 26" fork in it. Could that
mistake happen anywhere? Yeah, probably. I called them, a person picked up
the phone, I got a mortified apology, had a nice conversation, and they
express-shipped me the right fork. Does that happen everywhere? No. It's

I did buy one, and it really is special. It's gotta be my most beautiful
bike. Someone should grab this frame and build it up. Here's another build

under the fenders, so I've since switched to slightly smaller slicks. New

Yeah, I’d buy a 59.
I should have bought one the first time around! I don’t need another bike, but
it’s pretty special.

Looks like Marathon Supremes are the winners 700x50mm. (I can't fit a 60mm
under the current fenders anyways.)
Thanks everyone!

For what it's worth, Hugh, I think I'm on the same page with you. Somebody
ordered a custom and a frame was built *almost* to spec, and the buyer
elected not to take that frame. The seller elected to have another frame
made and offered up the reject at a discount, which somebody bought.

I'm with Joe. It'll sell. It's a BEAUTIFUL bike.

Ok, fair enough, but I don't recall shushing anyone or implying one needs
to pass a Riv loyalty test. I simply find the tone of outrage and insult

As big as you can get, and make sure you have flat protection because fixing
one on the road (I haven't done it yet 🤞) will not be fun. The Road Cruiser I

I didn't realize that it was the only production frame with lugs and

Fit for complete range of motion is precisely why I went with Spencer's

This is a very good point to discuss. I've found many off-the-shelf cycling

them long enough to cinch tightly under the knee but not bind when
