I was just admiring this bike on IG earlier! I am @jasonmytail btw.
Lovely build, I ordered a Clem H 45cm earlier today so this was topical for
me. Good deal on that sale, I wish I had jumped on it, but thankfully a
near-as-good sale came up now so I figured why not.

Gorgeous XO. I rode the heck out of my 1994 X0-3. Now my daughter is riding
it. Great bikes! Should not be hard to sell.

Cool! This is a great story - you’re a great friend! Tell your friend that he

Agree with you on all that ... though these photos are of my daughter with my

don’t have copies yet.
My daughter kept saying “more” every time we stopped for even a moment. Great!

Joe, my PBH is 84.5cm, I’m 6’0” tall. It does feel a little long but nothing I
could adjust with a different stem and bra. Currently have 80mm technomix stem
with 56cm steel Albatross bars ... reach is a little long with baby in the
seat, UT feels good without the baby seat. I’ll adjust a littl
For everyone who poo pooed the baby bike the precious pictures of you and your
daughter show how valuable it is. The minute I hear about the arrival of
grandchildren someday I will hunt one of these down for the short window of
front seat carrying I can do.
No better way to transport and star
How tall are you? I saw that prototype baby-bike-don't-carry-a-baby-on-it in
the RBW shop a couple months ago and thought it was a cool stretch cruiser as
is. I'm curious how the reach works.

Everyone who said, “the derailleur clamp size is 31.8mm, it’s a double butted

tube” ... you were right! 34.9 mm to 31.8 mm shim from the local bike store and
then we were in action! This is more than just a baby bike,
Any idea where to find the geo for 2012?

DP, will update on the Brynje once I have a chance to use them. As for
what's going on between your lugs, there must be enough for you to get out
and enjoy life, no matter the time of year.

Extremely tempted to! I just bought my Hillborne two months ago so funds
are tight (shipping to Canada is expensive too), plus if this new bike is
sub-1000 price point and 650B, I think i'd prefer to hold out for it as my
commuter bike! Still very very tempted though.

Hey John, enjoy the Brynje stuff! Let me know how the non-mesh stuff works
... I've only used their mesh and love it, but it works completely
differently than standard "solid" thermals. Aye, I'm greatly benefited by
the fact there's no activity between me lugs! Grin.

Oh you're right, the guy I sold to was between the two bigger sizes and my
brain stuck there. We're the same height and I have a 45cm L, it's perfect as
long as you don't mind a lot of post showing like modernish bikes (I don't
mind). The height stuff on the Riv site is way outdated, it applies
80 cm; I would err towards a 45 if choosing because I'd rather a bike a
little small than a little large. And the 45's actually pretty reasonable
for my size from a numbers perspective though there is a big disconnect
with the recommended height range. I think you were expecting I was between
How tall are you/PBH? I just sold a 52 Clem H cuz the current models have
longer toptubes (I didn't know that) and the dang thing was just too big for
me. That one might be a little snug on you with the stock Boscos, but there's a
hundred other less-reachy-back bars you could pop on there.

Sorry, I didn't read the whole thread. That said, I don't consider a curved
top tube to make any difference in whether it rides like / not like a
Hillborne. Price point is a differentiator but also kind of a separate
consideration, especially since Sam wasn't a super expensive frame (by Riv

The diagram Paul M mentioned shows a low stepover, kind of a high Gus/Susie
variation. Also it's going to be mostly-TIGed, so lower price point than
Hillborne. We're discussing a bike that's "like a Hillborne" but with a
lower-curved toptube, different tube joinery and lower cost. That's a diffe
Hello DP,
Thank you for the Brynje suggestion. I just ordered the wool blend base
layer bottoms, the thermo shocks and the zip polo top which was 50% off.
I've been thinking of buying some sort of base layer to wear under my MUSA
pants for my bike commute. I think the Brynje's will do the job n
From the AMA on reddit yesterday,
"The next one is Charlie H. Gallop, and it's a high-clearance, v-braked
roadish bike that'll fit to 50mm."
Nothing new there, definitely sounds very similar to the Hillborne. I
expect the chainstays to be ~10mm longer than the equivalent size AHH and

Success! Got a nice wheelset from Joe Bunik and nearly finished with the
quick and dirty build up of the Rosco Baby for a first ride this morning.
I was missing two parts:

hand yesterday as I assembled the bike.

There are a number of models needing to be added. Rosco Bubbe, for example.

At Riv HQ today Grant said something like, “roadies v-braked complete bike in

Sounds great to me - looking forward to those v-brakes.

Here's a great post from 2015 with a model chronology. Someone who pays closer
attention to the blog/blahg, etc than I do should update the list to add RBW
developments of the past 4 years.
