Thanks, I'm looking for a padded tape to use with bar ends, so Ergons
wouldn't be my first choice.
I decided to order some of the padded Newbaum's to give it a try.
Though I would like to see a pic of Newbaum's tape over Ergon grips. That
sounds pretty funky. :)

Howdy folks,
Kinda bumping this and rephrasing the question a bit. Are there any
not-huge racks that mount up on the long chainstay RBW models without just
using super long stays to the rack top(ie. sit closer to the seat tube and
don't need the super long stays)? Most pictures I see manage to w
Ergon makes a variety of fine grips IMHO.

Has anyone tried this new cushioned Newbaum's yet?
I'm looking for something to replace my cork grips: something more easily
replaced/renewed and about the same diameter.

are far and away my favorite even in friction or index
The IRD ones are good. Also the microshifter thumbies are very good as well.
They come indexed but can be friction too.

I think what you're looking for is a rear derailleur hanger bracket. Like this:

You can hang most any derailleur off of this bracket.

I am back to having a 57cm Grilver Leo Roadini frameset for sale. I listed
it for sale in January, and it sold, but then the intended recipient

As I recall I used a bolt cutter on the springs and it basically flew apart.
Might want to wear eye protection. No damage to the rack once the spring
tension is released. I may file down that little dip in the frame for more tire
clearance, but it clears now so I’ll probably forget to do that. M

Thanks for the additional information. Any advice on removing the
