I have a smaller front rack mounted beneath the basket, which is zip tied to
it. has worked fine with fairly robust loads on week to three week trips,
nothing off road other than gravel trails. It’s a nitto rack, a marks rack
maybe.

Hi,
I know this is a long shot, but you are not by any chance interested in a trade
for a Rivendell (Rosco) Huge Mountain Mixte mountain bike, are you? I have one,

the front pitlock is fine. When I tighten the rear one with the key,
wrench, & greased threads, the coned end just spins. It never gets tight
enough to prevent movement in the dropout. I tried to get a hold of the
coned end with pliers but still can't get it tight enough. It's on a new

Hi,
I use pitlocks on my AHH and HHH.
I'm not sure that I understand: "When I try to tighten the skewer further
the bald/coned end just turns with it."--> How are you tightening the
skewer? Are you tightening with the pit key and a wrench? And it's not
tightening? Are the threads stripped?

Well it's a 26th Anniversary Riv if it ever happens at all now, which kinda
bums me out. Leah had questioned if the timeframe was too tight, and she was
right.

One of the things I love and am amused by with images like this is you only get
a feel for how steep this is because of the effort going into the bike. Same
hill, somehow ridden by a relaxed rider, looks un-steep. Flat hill, shot
pushing a bike with grunting effort, looks steep. Steep is really
Have you checked that you have all parts and in the required order? It can
be a little confusing to make sure everything is oriented right and in
position. The cone end might require a little bit of hand pressure to keep
from spinning but it should bite pretty quick.

Yes, it's moving in the dropout. With the normal qr skewers it tightens

Hi friends,
I recently got a Pitlock skewer set and after I installed it I noticed some
play/wiggle in my rear rim. When I try to tighten the skewer further the
bald/coned end just turns with it. I can't seem to get the skewer tight
enough but it seems to be the same length and my previous qui

It’s got paint chips and scratches but no dents or dings. It’s straight and
true. Some time ago this frame set got me seriously hooked on 650B. It is
fast and fun with 650B x 38mm tires and 57mm reach brakes. It also builds up
