after a while feels fine. Then come
I'm selling Frosty the step-through as it's a little too small. I'm bummed
because it's a very nice ride and now has me set on a properly fitted

Looks like all the self energizing ones were black. I thought non-SE like on
the bike pro page were vapor ware and never really made it to market, but I
appear to be wrong. I'd still check the internal springs to make sure they
didn't get switched to the wrong sides. Sin
Not to change the subject, but have you ever posted pictures of your Rivendell
Mountain? They seem to be rare beasts, and I've only ever seen a few pictures

I have had thoughts of rebuilding my Rivendell Mountain with not
necessarily Rivendell Silver parts, but with Rivendell designed or special
parts like the Phil Wood Rivvy hubs, Rivendell Grip King/MKS Lambda pedals,
Silver thumb shifters. My bike is built with a mix of late generation

Ash,
Do the springs hold the basket tightly to the rack? Do you ever feel that
going over a big bump could dislodge it?

What a pleasant, heartwarming story! You'd never guess their ages from
pictures or hearing them speak; they both seem so happy and contented.
It's obvious that they are in good shape.
Thanks for sharing!
