The shimano style are so easy that i often forget to unplug when pulling
the wheel off my GB and it easily comes off. have not ripped anything yet.

I think I'd prefer a bolt tab on the strut as opposed to a nice looking

Ever since I ordered my 3 German mirrors I've wanted to find a guy with a
lathe and have longer rods made to replace the rod that is between the
clamp and the mirror.
