mark's rack plus a basket and sackville shopsack, or even a big ass bag
like the swift docena, have been nothing but fine on a mid-trail rivendell

Interesting, Justin. I have a SunRace 8-speed thumbie which I'm also not
thrilled with. It indexes fine, but the action is too hard. Sometimes I have to
grab the thing with my whole hand to get the shift. I've used Shimano indexed
bar-cons in both positions, and they're definitely softer/easier/
I have SunRace actual indexed barcons that I'm not too fond of. I think I'm
going to widening my handlebars and in that process will probably spring for
new barcons made by Shimano.

I received the frame bag and mounted it on my Schwinn KOM-10. It fits
perfectly, as expected! My only complaint is that it covers the headbadge.
