Yeah, I didn't know if I'd get up to the snow level when I was down by the
orange groves!
Pretty neat place, nine months of the year.
Those other three... not so much :-)

You could set your Hilsen up to be more "roady" with a stem change,
could you not?
I vote for keeping the ability to run 38s with fenders. That's what I
run on brevets.

If Riv is listening, I for one am ready to scrimp and save to throw some

I have a custom mixte. You'll love it. I just did a gravel ride during the
Christmas break and took it on a week long bike tour to Utah in September. I'll
travel up to Mount Hollywood this weekend. The bike is so versatile that you
can do a lot of different riding with it. And of course I use it
It actually isn't a rumor. People who work at Riv have they said they want to
add a larger size, 64 or 65ish. So it's totally true that they have wanted to
do it. But wanting to do it is different from being able to do it which is why
it's not certain.

Interesting rumor. Speaks to how popular the bike was , I guess. This
probably doesn't help jim but in case others dont realize it , the 59 fits MUCH
bigger than it would appear to suggest. Someone 6'-3" to 6'-4" is probably
ideal, and 6'-6" or so might bewithin the realm of "decent fit." At
You might try playing with the tires first. That's going to have a lot to

Happy New Years Everyone! Hope you were able to get a ride in today. I was

Nice!
Reminds me of when I installed the VO front rack with the integral decaleur
piece on my Bleriot. This was the original one, with the stainless steel tang.
I left it off at my LBS, and they called later that morning; they had nothing
